I started my research process by going through multiple topics but none of them seemed right. Eventually I found the topic of the persecution in Myanmar. I chose this topic because I enjoy learning about discrimination and the effects of discrimination, I am also very passionate about lessening the amount of discrimination in today’s world. I chose Myanmar because I wasn’t very familiar with the country and I wanted to learn something new. After looking through many websites and articles on my topic I created a hypothesis that fit the point I wanted to focus on, it would show not only the existing discrimination, but the extreme Myanmar took it to, and the lasting effects. I started off with a semi boring thesis that wasn’t largely expandable but after revising and rephrasing I drafted a much better thesis.
At the start of my research process I didn’t expect my topic to be so extreme, but after multiple hours of research I learned the harsh happenings and my knowledge of Myanmar was expanded. I struggled with finding reliable sources that were recent enough to meet the requirement, after researching for a while I found enough articles and websites to craft the essay. During the research process the actual material I was researching was surprising, the condition of Myanmar and the way it functions today was shocking. Countries are still trying to get involved and help the innocent Rohingya Muslims. |
